A Message from Fr. Domingo

Dear Friend of Trinity Missions,

May the grace and peace of the Holy Spirit be with us forever!

Fall is all about falling leaves!  The much needed letting go of nature turns creation into a colorful drama of living without.  The dying leaves provide nurturing chemicals for the soil, while barren trees stand as witness of the recurring cycle of nature – life life to death to life . . .

It is not difficult to think of ourselves experiencing the same cycle of life, going through stages, letting go, living without, dying to self so as to nurture someone else’s existence.  Sound familiar?  Of course!  This is what you, our friends and benefactors, continue to do as you partner in mission with us.  This is what our Trinity Missionaries do with incredible dedication every day, everywhere we labor for God’s poor.

The challenge is how to continue giving of self when the culture around us entices us otherwise.  The effort to be counter-cultural is what ultimately identifies us as true followers of Jesus the Lord.  And, of course, in the Church we do this together!  We try to inspire and support one another in our efforts at discipleship.

That is why we come to you through our mail appeals, through this website, and through other communications.  We want to inspire and support you in your committed response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

As you read the stories of our missionaries, I hope you will agree that our priests, Brothers and seminarians have learned well from the exhortations of the late Pope John Paul II – and from Pope Benedict XVI, as well – to care not just for the spiritual needs of the people, but for their corporal and material needs also.

With falling leaves we come to you with grateful hearts.  You have truly inspired and supported us.  Thank you!

Gratefully,

Yours in the Holy Trinity,

Father Domingo, S.T.
